With the help of my wonderful Mother and my glorious Husband, there will be cake pops at the party on Saturday. I forgot how time consuming the dipping process is!!!! I figured we could dip them after B went down for the night, and then spend the rest of the evening chilling out on the couch as we really do need that... but we didn't get "done" until 1130 and I had wanted to go to bed no later than 1030/11. Oops. And when I say "done", I mean there are still more to dip tonight. Joy. I am complaining a little bit but I know they will get rave reviews. P tried one last night... we did chocolate cake with chocolate frosting for the pops themselves and I picked up red, green, chocolate, and white choc with peppermint in them to try out. P was actually most hesitant about the peppermint-flavored ones but it just so happened that that was the one that had the most flaws..therefore, the one that was to be eaten!!!! And he LOVED it. Haha. Goes to show you should always try before judging certain flavors, right?? Sadly, I don't even care much for cake pops. I'm not huge into chocolate and they are soooooooo rich. But I do like to make them and see people's reactions to them. I'm a compliment-whore. :) It will hurt a bit, though, when people take a bite and set them down because there's so much more other good stuff to be stuffing their faces with on Saturday. It's going to be quite the spread!!!! I can't wait.
We have been slowly decorating the Christmas tree and I had to pull out my camera to capture it the other night. I could NOT get little B to smile while standing by it to save my life, though. But B still did his best helping with the ornaments and he definitely had his favorites. Yesterday I posted a video of the beginning of the ornament-hanging process if you missed it. He likes bells. He also likes our train ornament!!!! I always shy away from taking pictures inside with flash, but since the addition of my external flash [thank you, Daddy P] last year for Xmas, I need to quit being such a baby about flash!
He is literally saying "Choo Choo" in this picture. :) |

Alright, enough babbling for the day. Happy Thursday !!!!
Love that picture of B!! We can't do a big tree where we are right now but hopefully that'll change next year! We do have a small table top one though. :)
ReplyDeleteYou make me laugh, talking about growing up! Haha it's good though! I am jealous that you and P are able to go out and do things without B. I think I've had 4 or 5 drinks since April 2009 (when I found out I was pregnant) and I have yet to have a night off from parenting. Not that I'm complaining, but it would be nice to catch a movie or go out for an adult meal. :P Jack has never been left with anyone other than daycare and I'm hoping to change that soon! You are very lucky that you can leave him with your parents and know that he is going to be well taken care of and also know that they are happy to have him (I'm assuming!). That is wonderful! I'm sure you already know this!
Enjoy your weekend. It sounds like so much fun! :)
Sounds like you're having a fantastic month :) B looks super duper cute holding the ornament by the tree :)

What a busy lady! No wonder you lost track of the days - ha!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're having such a fun holiday season so far. Keep it up!! :)
I hate flash and have no idea how to use off camera flash. However, I started missing out on some cool moments bc I wanted to avoid using it, so I've decided Im over my flash phobia. Better to get the pics than to not. Wow! Im so rambling. How was your photography class? I've only taken one, but would love to take another one. Please ship any left over cake balls to Texas!!! and B is adorable wether he's smiling or not.
